100% pure Shantung silk, stretched around a hard backing of opaque plastic, with hand-rolled edges.

Shantung silk is woven from two distinct threads. It is this unique feature that creates this silk’s signature iridescence. From one angle this shade will, like the jewel from which it takes its name, appear to be the deepest green, and yet look again in a different light and it has magically turned to magenta. Photos simply cannot do it justice.

The slubs, which occur where the threads of silk are twisted together, are a natural feature of Shantung silk, acting as a wonderful reminder of the weaving process.

This shade fits both an E27 and E14 bulb holder (with reducer ring included).
